The Fish

Excitement and thrills abound. The rush of line peeling off the reel, after a strike. The hook set then the tug o war. What do we have? The possibilities are below.
Yellow Fin Tuna

Yellow Fin Tuna

The SPEEDSTER of the Ocean

The yellowfin Tuna are found through out the world in deep tropical waters. Very colorful, dark metalic blue back, yellow sides and fins and a silver belly. Sized usually from 20lb (12kg) to 100+lb (45kg), and can reach speeds of 50mph. Usually found with active feeding schools of dolphins.

A tremendous fighting fish, excellent for sushi or on the grill.

Mahi - Mahi, Dorado, or Dolphin Fish
Known as the "Devil Fish" to the Liberians

The Mahi-mahi gets its name from the crazy antics in the water. You will probably see it hit your line, like a torpedo across the top of the water. Once hooked it will be every where. Its topsides are a brilliant green and bright yellow underneath. Once in the boat get your pictures fast, because those colors fade as it perishes.

This is an excellent eating fish, grilled or baked. Lends itself to most all sauces and seasoning.

Beautiful dark brown to purple ballerina of the sea

Hitting your line this warrior may come out of the water, or thrash its tail at the top. Then you are off to the races. A long thin billfish has tremendous power to challenge you. They can hit speeds of 70mph.

Coming over the rail with its large dorsal fin spread you have a majestic visual experience

They are excellent eating but also it is fine to release it for another day after your picture.

MARLIN
The Ultimate DREAM FISH

The fish that Ernest Hemingway's OLD MAN IN THE SEA and Zane Grey put in every fishermans' dreams. The sheer size. emense strength, arial acrobatic show and elusiveness have made this the ULTIMATE CATCH.

Cobalt blue back silvery white sides, this fish lives in the offshore waters. 20 miles from Monrovia, Liberia, or an hour boat ride as opposed to the 4 to 6 hour ride else where.

Size range can be 60lb (28kg) to the  fantasy GRANDER 1000lb (453kg). Though elusive to catch, the anticipation of a marlin from setting out the lines, the line screaming off the reel, the airborne dance, to finally along side for a picture, are all part of the dream.

The flesh is considered a delacacy, but this fish is also in the Catch and Release catagory after your pictures.
